Cyanotype -- Edgar Base (U.S. Worsted)

First seen in 1842 and still used today, cyanotype printing uses slow-reacting, photographic printing formulation sensitive to produce a haunting blue monochrome print. Ferric ammonium citrate (or ferric ammonium oxalate) and potassium ferricyanide combine with water to develop and fix brilliant blue imagery. This deep, dark blue echoes the shadowy elements of cyanotype printing with the smallest whisper of highlight.

Edgar base: Worsted Weight, 3 ply twist.  100% Superwash U.S. Rambouillet/Merino Wool. 228 yards per 100 gram skein.
