Values

Ex Libris Fibers celebrates diversity and is committed to fostering inclusive spaces online and in person. Ex Libris Fibers rejects hate, discrimination, and harassment including racism, homophobia, fascism, colonialism, and genocide.

Though Ex Libris Fibers is a small operation, I strive to create yarn that as accessible and equitable as possible. In selecting inspiration for colors, stories are chosen that are often overlooked or could use more amplification. Ex Libris Fibers operates with principles of sustainability, reciprocity, and abundance, with a belief that creativity and making both heal and build meaningful connections.

In supporting this small neurodivergent woman-owned business, you are also supporting small changes that lead to dismantling problematic systems. Portions of quarterly online sales are donated to organizations and funds that fuel social, environmental, and progressive change. Details are shared quarterly in the newsletter.

Ex Libris Fibers lives and creates on the unceded homelands of 𐓏𐒰𐓓𐒰𐓓𐒷 𐒼𐓂𐓊𐒻 𐓆𐒻𐒿𐒷 𐓀𐒰^𐓓𐒰^(Osage), Shawandasse Tula (Shawanwaki/Shawnee), and Monongahela culture, who lived in a reciprocal and sustainable relationship to land and all living things. I respect and am inspired by the resilience and resistance against colonial systems, both past and present, and am committed to working towards reconciling an abundant future guided by those principles.

Finally: Ex Libris Fibers is a human-centered system that relies on one physical body and human creativity: learning is constant, rest is necessary, humans err, AI is slop, and there is beauty, magic, and value in the slow and handmade.
