There's something about October that hints at a certain anticipation of the weird as the nights get longer and things slowly demonstrate impermanence. (It's also my birthday month, and I don't know how to celebrate my day without covering it in spooky season!)
Enter: Kathe Koja, master of the most unsettling and original horror and wholly appropriate for this moment in time.
To get in the mood for this month's yarn, try "The Cipher" - which has been SO HARD to find for so long, but we're in luck as a paperback reissue came out as September 15! If you prefer short stories, try "Velocities," a collection of stirring and unforgettable tales.
How the Yarn Club Works
Each month a different author is highlighted with a mood board that will guide the limited, surprise colorway.
A little themed surprise will be included each month, and you're encouraged to read along with the month's author (whether you participate in the yarn portion or not!)
Sign-ups occur for one week and ship early next month.
When Do I Get My Club?
Your club package will ship (or be ready for pick up) the week of October 5th.
Signups will close when all slots are full, or, at 11:59pm EST September 22, 2020.
The Book Club!
All are welcome to discuss each month’s author and stories, WIPs, or any other little bookish yarny thing in the virtual book club meetup held after the club is released. Details on how to join will go to all newsletter subscribers.
Yarn and needlecrafts are therapeutic and should be accessible to all. If you are experiencing financial hardship, the following discount codes offer a sliding scale for the club if you need it - no questions asked.
SPECTRAL10 to receive the club at 90% of regular price
SPECTRAL20 to receive the club at 80% of regular price
