Marble Staircase, layers of mauve and lilac with gray speckles, dyed to celebrate the marble staircases that adorn the lobby of the Main Library here in Pittsburgh. The library has been so loved since 1895 that the stairs themselves have physically worn down where thousands of curious minds have climbed over the decades. This colorway echoes the worn and multifaceted colors you see as you wander the staircases.
Base: Shelley (3-ply Worsted) 100% U.S. Rambouillet/Merino (Nonsuperwash); 240 yards / 100 grams.
All indie-dyed yarn works up differently depending on gauge, project size, and needle/hook size. Swatches are shown in sock base, from a previous dye batch, to give an average idea of the colorway only.
